Blockchicks at SXSW

No more apologies. What a relief. That was my key takeaway after attending the Women in Blockchain networking session at the March SXSW Conference & Festival. You've heard of blockchain. It's the new technology that's is already formerly known as hyperledger technologies, or the new decentralized internet. Or for the uninitiated, you might know it as the digital backbone behind cryptocurrency.

Even its description has evolved 90 degrees since learning about its revolutionary and vast applications in the real world piqued my interest in September 2017. But what hasn't changed,  that I had not known last fall, is that there will be room at the table for a variety of voices and not just programmers and developers.

Troika's No Joke

A jeep, a dinosaur, and an old Mexican woman walk into a bar…wait. Is that the setup for a bad joke or the inspiration for a sophisticated company? The latter. Troika Media Group, Inc., a dynamic brand and marketing collective, gained its roots from the Russian language, as the moniker troika means three. It was named after the 1997 science fiction novel, The Troika, by Stepan Chapman. The fantastical, award-winning science fiction novel features those odd characters as they trek across the desert “under the glare of three suns”. All of which aptly describes the work of this creative company: unexpected, bold and blindingly bright.
